The classic chocolate crinkle cookie. Yes, this cookie is typically considered to be a Christmas cookie, but after making them yesterday I beg to differ!
I had every intention of making these cookies over the holidays, but I could not find an extra second. I am sure you can all relate that the “best time of the year” is also the busiest time of the year! Stay inside and lock the doors, the stores are crazy! Thank God for Amazon Prime, am I right?
Christmas time is such a special time of year for me. Especially now that I have a little one to share the magic with. It always goes by way too fast and a part of me just wants to hang on to the holidays just a little bit longer. Lets be honest, you still have your Christmas tree up and you are seriously considering decorating it for Valentines Day! I guess making these cookies was my attempt to hold on to the holiday season just a little longer. I would be that person with my tree still up if it wasn’t for Bradley trying to destroy it every 5 minutes!
These cookies are a perfect combination of brownie and a cookie in one bite! So here’s what you need.

- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1. Sift together your dry ingredients in a medium bowl
- 2. Mix your wet ingredients in a large bowl
- 3. Pour your dry ingredients into your wet ingredients. Adding about 1/3 of the dry stuff at a time and letting it mix completely before adding more
- 4. Cover and chill dough for at least an hour up to overnight
- 5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- 6. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and pour your powdered sugar onto a plate or shallow dish
- 7. Using a cookie scoop or a spoon, scoop about 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of cookie dough directly onto your plate of powdered sugar, and then role the dough around so it gets covered in sugar, you can then easily form into a ball and place onto cookie sheet. (My first batch I formed a dough ball before I put it in the powdered sugar and it was a sticky mess!! Learn from my mistakes!)
- 8. Bake cookies for 10 minutes, the cookies should look like they have cracks. Then let them sit on the cookie sheet for 5 min before you transfer to a cooling rac

The cookies should be soft, but firm enough to hold on to and they should taste like chocolate heaven! If they don’t then you did something wrong. These cookies are gorgeous! Look at that contrast!
