Christmas Gift Tags

Christmas is almost here! Do you have all of your Christmas shopping done? Are you running out of gift tags for all your gifts under the tree? Well I’ve got you covered! Christmas is my favorite time of year. The Christmas lights, the snow, the beautiful Christmas trees and all of the perfectly wrapped packages under the tree. I love to wrap presents! My family always jokes when they get a gift from me because I use so much tape that they can hardly get it open! I counted this year and used an average of 10 pieces of tape per box. Too much tape you say? Not at all when the end result looks like this!

Wrapped Presents

Alright, enough about my obsession with wrapping presents and tape! What I really wanted to share with you, is how to make these adorable gift tags. All you need is scissors, stamps, ink, twine, card stock, and a hole punch. You can find all of these supplies at your local craft store or use these cute stamps!

Stamps and paper size

First you are going to cut the card stock to match the shape and size of your stamp. Make sure to leave room for a tail at the end and a hole at the top.

Cut from corners to middle

You can use a ruler and find the middle of the tag to create the tail, but I just eyeball it and it normally comes out just fine. These are only gift tags people! Just start at the bottom corner and cut at an angle to the center.

Punch holes

Punch holes at the top, add your twine, and put on the stamps. Done! They are so cute, right? You can use whatever stamps, card stock and twine or ribbon you want. So you can see how you can easily customize these tags to your personal taste…and for any occasion!

Finished gift tags

And just because I like to take every opportunity to show off this cute face. Here is a picture of my little Bradley! This post wouldn’t have taken me 3 hours to finish today, if I wasn’t pulling him out from underneath the Christmas tree every 15 seconds! See, even he loves my wrapping 😉

Merry Christmas everybody! Stay warm and safe and enjoy your time with family. Have the best Christmas ever!

12 days til Christmas

We love Christmas! Honestly, who doesnt?! Decorating the Christmas tree, driving around town to look at Christmas lights, family movie on Christmas Eve, reading the Christmas story on Christmas morning, oranges in the bottom of our stockings, these are just a few of my favorite childhood traditions.

We have developed many family traditions throughout the years, however, the years for new family traditions are upon us!

With all3sisters married- Ember 18 months, Bradley 8 months, and Baby St. John on the way, the traditions will start to look a little different then when we were kids. We’ve already started a few! Fresh cut Christmas tree in the woods for the cabin, Happy Birthday Jesus party, new Christmas book, and new pajamas each year!

What are your favorite traditions? As we approach #themostwonderfultimeoftheyear don’t forget the true reason for the season!

A New Night Light

Have you guys seen those outlets with an LED light built in? In other words, pure brilliance? I’d never seen one until we built our house two years ago. Our builder installed them on our stairwell, and they amazing! I never knew I could love an outlet so much. Frankly, I didn’t think I’d ever have any feelings for an outlet…and now I’m feeling very self-conscious about this whole conversation.

So…let’s move on before I embarrass myself further! The best thing about having them on the stairs (they have a built-in sensor so they come on automatically when its dark) is we can actually see when we walk upstairs at the end of the evening. You know, once you turn off all the lights downstairs. And you know that dreaded trip back downstairs when you forget your water glass? Or in my case, your chocolate stash…yeah, you won’t trip or have to turn on a light for that either. Which makes sneaking chocolate so much easier 😉

So, go home and put in an LED night light outlet in your stairwell tonight, ok? You won’t regret it. And guess what? We’ll even show you how to do it!

So this little girl we have, she doesn’t like to sleep thru the night so much. At least not very consistently. In other words, I make frequent trips down our hallway in the middle of the night. And we’ve been using a plug in night light for awhile, but I felt like it was just too bright (I could see it when I was laying in bed!) and Ember was starting to think it was a good toy, eek! So we started thinking about other options.

I’m sad to say it actually took us a couple weeks to come up with the night light outlet idea. But, once we got there, it was like duh! How have we lived this long without one of those in our hallway?

So we ordered one of these outlets and got to work replacing an outlet. With the power turned off, at the breaker, Josh removed the old outlet by cutting the wires where they were attached to the existing plug.

Cutting Wires |

He then just stripped the wires down so he could wrap them onto the new outlet.

Capping Wires |

He wrapped the wires around the screws on the new outlet (don’t worry, there are instructions included with the outlet as well).

Attaching wires |

And then just pushed the new outlet back into the wall and screwed it in place.

Replacing an outlet |

He also had a little helper…she moonlights as a giraffe.

Ember's in charge |

She has everything under control. Next time we’re going to have her complete the entire install.

Daddy's helper |

And then flip your breaker back on and check your work!

It Works! |

Don’t forget to also get a new plate, because your old one won’t fit the new outlet. Yeah, that’s a little, learn from my mistakes, tip. I may have forgotten that in my first order…it’s okay, the light still worked without a plate surrounding it! 😉

Finishing up |

So a little later…my two helpers added a plate to completely finish off this project!

And then celebrate your hard work! And your brilliance for adding some serious improvement to your middle of the night jaunt down the hallway.

A Job Well Done |

Go out and get yourself one! Or two or three or ten. You can’t have too many.

A Bridal & Baby Brunch

And now for the other shower! This one was totally unique! Because it wasn’t only a baby shower for Michelle & Ember, but also a bridal shower for Jaclyn!

What do you do when your wedding & your sisters due date are the same week? You live in the same town, have the same family, a lot of the same friends and both need to plan a shower? Combine forces of course!! Michelle & I decided to have a combined shower, and you know what? It was SO much fun!!!Shower Invite

After the wedding date was set, Michelle announced she was pregnant and due 2 days after the wedding! A 9-month pregnant Maid of Honor!! We prayed she’d make it to the wedding! Thankfully Ember decided she liked it inside Mommy’s tummy and waited for Auntie Jac to return from her honeymoon 2 weeks later! (thankfully, if you’re me…Michelle wasn’t so thankful at the time ;))

A Bridal & Baby Brunch was a perfect way to host and celebrate for each other! Thanks to our friend, Jodi Perez, for letting us use her house!

Justina’s Baby Shower

Now that we’ve got another baby coming, we thought it’d be fun to go back and show you what we did for the baby shower’s for Ember & Bradley. Plus, Michelle & Justina need some inspiration for planning my shower 😉

Today I wanted to show you the shower we threw for Justina & Bradley. Michelle & I had so much fun planning this shower. It was your perfect themed shower. Thankfully coming up with the theme was easy, Justina had always wanted to do a ‘woodland’ theme for Bradley’s nursery so we took that inspiration and ran with it. Thanks to Pinterest -it was another successful all3sisters event!

We found the adorable tags & invites on Etsy at The Pretty Paper Studio. And once we picked the paper goods, the rest sort of fell into place.

The Baby Shower was a great success!  Of course the food & decorations are fun, but the real star of the show is the mom-to-be & all her supporters that show up to shower her with love!

Also, a huge thanks to our cousin, Teresa Sandros, who owns Bliss Events, who let us borrow the wooden decorations. You can get similar wooden platters here and the adorable card holders here.
